Confirmation
What is Confirmation?
Confirmation is a joyful and intentional reaffirmation of one’s baptismal vows. It marks a young person’s growing faith and equips them to take their place in the life and mission of the church. This journey is not about completing a checklist but living into what it means to follow Jesus with confidence and maturity in faith.
Why it Matters
- Spiritual Strength: Confirmation deepens baptismal grace, grounding youth in the Holy Spirit and strengthening their connection to God and the church community.
- Education & Empowerment: Through intentional faith formation, participants gain understanding of worship, prayer, their denomination’s history, and Scripture—helping them grow in mature discipleship.
- Community Integration: Youth are mentored, build relationships across generations, and celebrate their place in the church, affirming that faith is a collective journey.
Who Can Participate
Youth who are entering middle or early high school, and adults. While baptism is required for confirmation, you can be baptized and confirmed at the same time.
What It Includes
- Faith Formation Classes: Cover core Christian beliefs, church traditions, prayer practices, and Scriptural exploration.
- Mentorship & Worship: Youth connect with mentors, explore worship together, and discuss how to live out faith in everyday life.
- Program Completion & Celebration: Participants publicly affirm their faith in a Confirmation service during worship, symbolizing their readiness to serve Christ as full members of the church.
- Ongoing Discipleship: After confirmation, youth are invited to remain engaged through youth groups, mission trips, retreats, and leadership opportunities within the church.
