UPDATE TO THE CONGREGATION
PHASE II CAMPUS EXTERIOR MASTER PLAN PROGRESS
Thank you! Thank you! To all of you contributing to the Capital Campaign, we thank you for your vision and support of this beautifying project. What an exquisite transformation! Please take the time to enjoy the new plaza that connects Wilson Hall and the sanctuary, the gorgeous new plants and trees that have been added, and the gathering spots created by new seating walls and tables with seats that are all part of the completed first portion of the Phase II Campus Exterior Master Plan Renovation Project.
What’s completed? The bluestone and brick plaza that connects our two buildings with accessible entries; the brick seating walls; two shade pergola elements; new plants, trees and garden renovations surrounding the sanctuary and the front of Wilson; irrigation and landscape lighting in the new garden beds; the large, dying maple was removed near Wilson Hall and other large trees on campus trimmed by arborists; and power washing of the plaza and brick portions of the sanctuary walls.
What’s left to complete Phase II? The stone top for the seating walls will be installed; the walkway between the rear paved lot will be expanded and the steps removed; a walkway will be added between the Wilson Hall plaza entrance and the office entrance; the garden bed along Wilson will be refurbished with irrigation and lighting added; three new handicap parking spaces will be built near the Wilson Hall side of the plaza; a semicircular drop-off at the Park Avenue side of the sanctuary will be built; new pole lighting will be installed in strategic pedestrian spots; new directional signs will be installed throughout the campus; and a lighted monument sign on the corner of W. Franklin and Stafford Place and an Electronic Messaging Sign at the corner of Regester Parkway, Donald and Park on the corner of our property will be installed. All contractors are working to complete the full project before the end of 2024.
